Emirates Internet Group (EIG) is a non-profit organization that has recently been granted an international acknowledgement from the ICANN and ISOC organizations to be an official Internet party of the UAE society.

EIG was established with the support of the Dubai Knowledge Village on March 14, 2006 by an initiative group of UAE nationals that was dedicated to enhancing the performance of Internet usage and knowledge sharing in the UAE. The group was officially recognized on April 19, 2006 during a ceremony that was held at the Knowledge Village under the patronage and with the attendance of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Mohamed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum.

EIG Vision:

 Enhancement of Internet users' performance in order to facilitate the exchange of experiences and information and provide guidance.

 

EIG Goals:

·                    Raising Emirates community’s awareness of the Internet importance and its usage.

·                    Raising the efficiency of local community organizations sites (local and state).

·                    Upgrading the capacity of website developers in terms of designing and programming.

·                    Cooperating with training centers (governmental training centers and private institutions) to offer specialized training courses.
