AMMAN-------- October25, 2015---------A delegation of prominent dignitaries from Ma’an Governorate paid a visit to HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh to extend their thanks and express gratitude for the initiatives and projects he offered to the Governorate, its people and its youths.
The delegation included HE Mr. Ahmad Al Khattab, the former Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Majed Sharary, Mayor of Ma’an Municipality, Eng. Mr. Abdullah Freij, Director General of the Development and Operation Fund, and Mr. Hamed Al Khattab, Head of Ma'an Heritage Band.
HE Dr. Abu- Ghazaleh had launched several initiatives in the Governorate including the signing of cooperation agreement between Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) and the National Society for the Conservation of Petra to launch a training program in the field of tourism in the southern governorates, to activate the cooperation agreement previously signed between TAG-Org and Al Hussein Bin Talal University, to study the establishment of land port in Ma'an Governorate, in addition to the inauguration of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge and Information Society in Qantara Center for Human Resources Development to qualify the youths in the Governorate to enter the labor market through a number of training and professional courses after being accredited as a center to obtain Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Cambridge Certificate in Information Technology.
During their visit to Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh office, the delegation stressed that many parties could not implement such initiatives in the Governorate. The delegation also expressed their thanks and gratitude to HE Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh for the projects and initiatives he launched along with other projects he promised to launch.
The delegation presented honorary shields/ medals as a token of gratitude and appreciation for HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh for his numerous efforts. For his part, Dr. Abu- Ghazaleh stressed that these initiatives are but a part of his personal social responsibility as a citizen, pointing out that everybody should contribute to the development of the Country, each within his own capacity.
The initiatives included the inauguration of the Technical Center for Children Education at HRH Prince Hussein bin Abdullah the Second Centre at the Ministry of Culture to achieve the principle of partnership between the public and private sectors; the opening of TAG-Org office hosted by Ma’an Development Company, which was established under a memorandum of understanding between both parties for the services rendered by TAG-Org to the current and new investors; development of training programs; in addition to a visit to the South Center for Private Education to be briefed on the mobile clinics, and to consider the possibility of activating them to serve the local community and the South Region.
